Asus Eee-Reader Review

The era of digital e reader is promoting a ‘Greener’ and ‘Easier’ alternative to traditional books and magazines. The users can access books and magazines online instantly without having to go through the trouble of going to the stores and at the same time it saves the natural resources such as paper that go into the making of traditional books, newspapers and magazines.

As the market of digital e reader is becoming competitive, the e readers are becoming more affordable and user friendly. Asus Eee Reader promises the users a great fun filled e reader experience at a very reasonable price.

It looks like a book, feels like a book and even comes at price of a book-Asus Eee reader is ready to shake up the digital e reader market. Named after the series of low cost PCs from Asus, this Eee reader from Asus is for sure set to capture a significant share of the digital e-reader market.

Unlike the other e-book readers in the market, which are single flat screen, Asus Eee- Reader, like a printed book has a hinged spine and two screens. The user can read the book on one of the screens while simultaneously surf the net on the other screen. The touch screen feature allows the user to even ‘turn’ the pages. One of the screens can also be used as a virtual keypad for the reader to be used as a laptop. The dual screen can be adjusted to A4 orientation.

The Asus reader is not just a digital device it is a pack full of fun too. It has features such as speakers, webcam and even a mic for chat applications such as skype. Asus Eee reader also has an upper hand in the current e reader market because of having full color screen unlike its counterparts which have monochrome screen.

One of the handiest features of this Eee reader is that it can read text on one screen and at the same time view web page on the other. This feature could be of great use to students who can access online reading guides as they study or for everyday reader who wants to access a dictionary or encyclopedia to enhance his/her understanding of the text.

The Asus Eee reader deluxe model supports the 3G and wireless function but the low-end model does not.

Though the effect of dual colored screen on the battery life is yet to be seen, the Asus Eee reader is already set for success in global markets. Pegged at reasonable $164 Asus Eee reader offers a great feature package is definitely worth the bucks.
